Once You Know You Deserve Better, You Can’t Go Back: The Hardest Part of Awakening

Spiritual awakening isn’t all light. It isn’t just angel numbers, journaling, meditation playlists, and finally “finding yourself.” The hardest part of awakening is this: Once you know you deserve better……

Spiritual awakening isn’t all light. It isn’t just angel numbers, journaling, meditation playlists, and finally “finding yourself.”
The hardest part of awakening is this:
Once you know you deserve better…
You can’t unknow it.
Once you see your limiting beliefs…
You can’t pretend they aren’t running your life.
Once you understand you are powerful — that you are the creator, that your thoughts shape your reality, that your standards determine your experience — You can’t comfortably go back to the version of you who settled. And that’s where it gets uncomfortable.

The In-Between Phase No One Talks About
Awakening doesn’t immediately teleport you into your dream life. There’s a middle space. A painful, stretching, identity-shedding space. You still work the old job. You still live in the same apartment. You still interact with people who operate from fear, lack, gossip, survival mode. But internally? You’ve changed. You see the patterns now. You see the scarcity thinking. You see the self-sabotage. You see how often you used to shrink to be accepted. You see how you normalized mediocrity because it felt safe. And your soul whispers: This isn’t it anymore.

When Your Soul Refuses to Settle
Before awakening, you could tolerate things. You could tolerate draining conversations. You could tolerate misalignment. You could tolerate environments that dulled your light. Now? Your nervous system reacts. Your intuition gets louder. Your body feels the misalignment. You don’t just think you deserve more. You know it. And knowing changes everything. Because now staying small feels physically uncomfortable. Settling feels like betrayal. Mediocrity feels suffocating.

The Grief No One Mentions
There’s also grief. Grief for the version of you who didn’t know better. Grief for the time spent under limiting beliefs. Grief for relationships that can’t follow you into your expansion. When you awaken, you don’t just gain awareness. You lose illusions. And illusions were comfortable. It was easier to believe:
“This is just how life is.”
“Everyone hates their job.”
“You can’t have passion and stability.”
“Be realistic.”
Awakening makes you incompatible with that narrative.

Why It Feels So Hard
It feels hard because you are energetically ahead of your physical reality. Your mindset has expanded. Your standards have risen. Your vision has sharpened. But your circumstances haven’t caught up yet. So you’re living in two timelines at once: The life you’re outgrowing. The life you’re becoming.
That tension? That’s growth.
That discomfort? That’s expansion.
That frustration? That’s your soul refusing to settle.

You Are Not Meant for an Average Life
Once you understand you are the creator…
Once you see how powerful your thoughts, energy, and identity truly are…
You cannot go back to autopilot. Your soul will not let you build a life that is safe but unfulfilling.
It wants depth.
It wants purpose.
It wants impact.
It wants expression.
It wants you fully alive.
And yes — that makes the “in-between” season uncomfortable.
But it also means this: You are closer than you think. Because dissatisfaction is a sign of evolution. The old version of you would have stayed quiet. The awakened version refuses.

The Truth About This Phase
You are not lost. You are not dramatic. You are not ungrateful. You are expanding beyond environments that once fit you. And it is normal to feel lonely there. It is normal to feel misunderstood. It is normal to feel like you’ve outgrown rooms you still physically sit in. This is not failure. This is awakening. And the fact that you can no longer settle? That is proof your standards have risen. Your awareness has sharpened. Your power has been remembered. You are not meant to shrink back into comfort. You are meant to grow into alignment. And the in-between phase? It’s not punishment. It’s preparation.

If this season feels heavy for you, let this be your reminder:
You are not crazy for wanting more.
You are not selfish for desiring purpose.
You are not unrealistic for refusing mediocrity.
You are awakening.
And once your soul knows what it’s capable of, it will never accept less again. You didn’t awaken to tolerate a life that drains you. You didn’t become aware just to shrink back into comfort. This in-between phase is not proof that you’re behind, it’s proof that you’ve expanded. Your soul has tasted alignment now. It knows what truth feels like. And even if your outer world hasn’t caught up yet, something irreversible has happened within you. You remember who you are. And once you remember your power, your standards, your depth — you don’t go back. You rise.

With love,
